Design Sojourn has finally decided to start accepting advertising campaigns from discerning customers. Our policy is to thoroughly vet the advertising campaigns, to ensure that they are legitimate and are of relevance to Design Sojourn readers and would be something that readers be interested with. We also believe that we create relationships with our advertisers and that we focus in the long term instead of the short.

Design Sojourn’s Target Market

1) Design Sojourn is a very niche blog that is targeted to designers of all professions (with a leaning towards Industrial Design) by helping them learn “how to do good design, create clever products and master the business of design”. There is currently no other design education “how-to” blog with such a high influence on the internet.

2) We have prided ourselves that our posts are always written in a language that everyone can understand. Thus we have also attracted a following of engineers, project managers, marketing people and anyone interested in Aesthetics, Innovation, Good Design and Creativity. Our readers hail from all around the world with the majority coming from the US. (44%)

3) We are ranked 1st (as of 11 March 08) if you do a search in Google for “Industrial Design Blog”. Our Google page rank is 5, and our Alexia ranking is 146K+ and dropping. Most excitingly, we are a fast growing blog, as evident by our RSS subscribers increasing on an average of 100 readers a month. In fact we have jumped from 500-700+ readers just last month! All our posts are excerpts, so subscribers do visit our site for the full content.

4) We range from about 37,000 – 45,000 impressions a month. In the month Feb 2008 we have hit 38K at month end.

Advertising Banner Details

1) I am selling eyeballs not Page Rank. Therefore all advertising banners will have a rel=”nofollow” attached to the url link.

2) Advertising will be in square banner of 125 x 125 pixels. Banners will be linked to your website. Advertisers are responsible for the design of their own banners, and no animated GIFs please.

3) The location will be as you see below the Google ads in the Sponsors section of my sidebar. However I reserve the right to change location based on the design of the template. Rest assured that it will be in the bests interests of the Advertisers.

4) The banner will cost you USD$40/Month as a CPM of USD$1. This is based on a average of 40K impressions per month. Minimum purchase is 3 months, maximum is 1 year. Price is locked in for the duration of the purchase, after which it will be adjusted based on prevailing rate above.

5) Payment is via Paypal. Please send the funds to dt@designsojourn.com, please follow up with an email, planned date to start your ad campaign and how long you would like to run it for. Once I have confirmed the payment I will send you a confirmation email.

If you need more information or would like to get going please fill up the contact form or email me at dt [at] designsojourn.com

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Commenting Rules: I love reading your comments as it allows me to interact and learn from you. Being critical is fine, giving constructive criticism, even better. However if you are rude, I will delete your comment. Repeat, and I will blacklist you. The world is full of negativity, so I don't need anymore on my blog, which I consider my online home. Would you encourage Neanderthal behavior in your home? Neither would I.

Finally, please use your personal name or initials and not your business name. By doing the latter, it comes off like spam, and that’s an auto delete. Thank you and I hope you enjoy being part of the conversation!
