Nakamichi is an Asian brand that’s known in some circles for their audio/video design style.

Nakamichi has established its reputation as a manufacturer of high performance and scrumptious looking designer style audio equipment that can easily give the better known Bang & Olufsen a run for their money.

Lumos portable DVD player is one of Nakamichi’s latest entries.

Nakamichi seems to have hit the jackpot with its latest portable DVD player Lumos. It looks great; it is small and features a so wide range of capabilities that it makes your head spin.

As all the Asian manufacturers, Nakamichi certainly has the know-how, at least for an innovative design which can probably give a kick to the well-known Bang & Olufsen, and I’m not the only one who says that, as also the guys from Mobile Whack affirmed the same thing.

There are certain brand names out there that strike me as intriguing for one reason or another. Some brands make odd devices that break the norm, some make revolutionary devices that blow peoples minds, other companies just make stuff that works and they do it with style. Nakamichi is one of those brands that falls into the latter category.

Strangely we did not seem think the same way as the reviews, but often designers are their own worst enemy. The reason was that we were so closed to the product that we came to know every single quirk and flaw that influenced how we thought of the product as a whole.

Lesson learnt: Get outside feedback, take a break, get some air and try not to lose the plot!
